The Cobblers boss believes the youngster has plenty of potential

Keith Curle was pleased to see Morgan Roberts return feeling the benefits of a successful loan spell after he came on as a late substitute in the win over Salford on Saturday.

“Morgan has come back into the fold and it was pleasing to get him on the pitch against Salford,” he said.

“It was a slightly unfamiliar role for him on Saturday but he came on and gave us that youthful energy. He will chase people down and he can create chances.

“The club see potential in him and so do I, the door is certainly open for him here and we want to give him that game time.

“There is something about him, he’s been working on his physical condition which has improved, he’s not bulked up but he is a strong little character and he has learnt a lot from playing men’s football.

“He’s got a good work ethic; he can create and score goals and he can be a big part of our squad.

“Matt Warburton is another one and it was good to get him on the pitch as well on Saturday.

“We have got attacking options in the squad who perhaps haven’t had that game time and I still think there is more development to come from some of the younger players. Those players will get an opportunity if merited and then it’s down to them.”
