NORTHAMPTON TOWN MAKE DOUBLE LOAN SIGNING

Midfielder and striker are added to the squad

27 January 2020

Northampton Town have made a double loan signing.

Arsenal midfielder James Olayinka has arrived at the PTS Academy Stadium on loan for the rest of the season.

19 year old Olayinka played and scored against the Cobblers for Arsenal in the Leasing.Com Trophy game earlier this season.

Meanwhile, striker Callum Morton has joined the Cobblers on loan from West Bromwich Albion, also for the rest of the season.

"James is a dynamic midfielder who we saw play well against us earlier in the season," said manager Keith Curle.

"We have tracked him closely and seen him play in a number of under 23 games and he has always impressed us.

"He is box to box, he has a lot of energy, he creates chances, he scores goals and he doesn't mind a tackle either.

"He can hunt the ball down and he enjoys the competitive side of the game.

"Callum is a striker who likes to play in behind defences. He can handle himself physically, he knows where the goal is and he can be a threat.

"He has a great work ethic, he will chase everything and he is a real nuisance to play against. He is desperate to make an impact, he has that hunger about him and he has got good ability.

"These new additions, along with Mark Marshall of course, give us a freshness in what is a busy run of matches and they offer different options and increased competition for places."

Both players, along with winger Mark Marshall, are available for Tuesday's home game against Scunthorpe United. Tickets are available now via ntfcdirect.co.uk
