Cobblers boss Keith Curle said he was proud of the whole club as he reflected on the Emirates FA Cup fourth round tie with Derby County which ended goalless in front of the BT Sport cameras, setting up a replay at Pride Park in a week and a half’s time.
“We performed at the top level of our game tonight,” he said.
“We showed the unity that was needed, we trusted our game plan and everyone was on the same page which was vitally important.
“You have to give Derby credit, I thought their application was good and there is no doubt they have got attacking quality but we defended our goal well.
“Charlie Goode was outstanding and Michael Harriman was excellent as was Jordan Turnbull. Michael did everything we asked of him and it was a terrific effort from everybody.
“There was a real buzz about the place tonight and I like working in that environment.
“The supporters really played their part as well and hopefully they go away having enjoyed the occasion.
“The replay will be another challenge but it might be a game where we can express ourselves a little bit more on the ball.”
