Cobblers boss Keith Curle said his side have come a long way in a short space of time but said they are still a work in progress as he reflected on the 1-0 home defeat to league leaders Swindon Town.
“It was down to fine margins but it’s those fine margins that get you to the top of the league,” he said.
“Their goalkeeper made three very good saves and they are the defining moments.
“We stuck to our beliefs and we were a little bit open at times. We could have made some better decisions in the final third but we’ve given a very good team a run for their money tonight.
“The commitment, effort and desire was there but there are areas we can improve.
“We’ve come a long way in a short time but we are still a work in progress.
“The belief is still there; we move on to Saturday and with the quality we’ve got in the changing room every game in this league is winnable.
"We are in the top six, that's a huge improvement on twelve months ago, and it is all to play for."
