The Cobblers boss looks ahead to the visit of Swindon Town

10 February 2020

Cobblers boss Keith Curle says he understands the challenge ahead of his team on Tuesday night as he previews the visit of league leaders Swindon Town.

“Swindon are a dangerous side and the challenge for us is to stop them playing from how they want to,” he said.

“We need to impose ourselves on the game and that starts with us earning the right to play.

“They have got good players, they pass and move the ball well and they can score goals but we’ve got a way of how we want to defend, both individually and collectively

“We analyse every game win, lose or draw and statistically there were lots of positives on Saturday but ultimately the first and last stat we look at is the scoreline.

"We have an identity, we know what we are and we are proud of who we are.

“We’ve built some good momentum over the last few months and we won’t change our format because we believe in what we are doing. It has got us results and on another day we would have beaten Port Vale but we don’t walk around saying we were unlucky, when we don’t win we know we haven’t done enough.”
