KEITH CURLE PRAISES SUPPORT WITH HUGE AWAY FOLLOWING SET FOR PRIDE PARK

The Cobblers boss looks ahead to the Emirates FA Cup replay at Derby County

Keith Curle has paid tribute to the Cobblers supporters with over 4,000 set to be at Pride Park on Tuesday night for the Emirates FA Cup fourth round replay with Derby County.

“The support we’ve had has been phenomenal, we are creating a wave and the more people we get riding that wave the better,” he said.

“We will take a fantastic travelling vocal support on Tuesday night and it’s important we show up and take our identity into what I’m sure will be a great cup tie.

“There is an excitement and buzz about the group and it’s a good changing room to be in at the moment. We are working hard but the players are enjoying it and that’s important.

“On paper it’s a game Derby should win and win comfortably and I’m sure that’s what their supporters will be expecting.

“Wayne Rooney is a Manchester United legend and the chance for him to play against them is rightly getting a lot of the media attention but there is a small matter of them needing to overcome us first.

“I don’t think Derby will take us lightly and I’m sure they will be respectful in terms of their preparation.

“It’s a fantastic stadium and the surroundings will be a little bit alien to some of the players but once we get out onto the pitch it’s a level playing field and we will be giving it everything we’ve got.”
