Northampton Town Football Club have announced that the club's Community Trust have partnered with Northampton Young Carers who will both benefit from funds raised from their annual charity match.
Both charities have been selected as part of the club's ‘on our doorstep’ initiative that will see the Cobblers work to support charities and good causes in Northamptonshire.
Joanna Johnston, Care Manager for Northamptonshire Young Carers said, “We are really grateful to have been chosen as a beneficiary for this year’s charity match. Connecting with the local community and raising awareness can only be a positive thing for Young Carers.”
The second charity to be selected, the Northampton Town Football Club Community Trust, are the official charity arm of the football club and were involved in the successful event last year.
Phillip Smith, Chief Executive Officer of the club's Community Trust said, “We are delighted to be part of this year’s charity match again following on from last year’s success. We are proud to be able to use the unique appeal of the football club to improve people’s lives in the community through a range of projects and programmes. The match will be a fantastic platform to help continue to raise the profile of the work we do. The funds raised from the match this year will go towards our new projects aimed at supporting positive mental health."
The match will take place at the PTS Academy Stadium on Sunday 19th April 2020 with kick-off at 3pm. Confirmed attendees include the Queen of the Jungle, Jacqueline Jossa! Tickets are priced at £5 for under 16’s and £10.
