With no game on Boxing Day due to a number of positive Covid-19 tests amongst the Ipswich Town squad, the Cobblers will be training on Boxing Day ahead of the visit of Gillingham to the PTS Academy Stadium on Tuesday night.
“In the light of our recent results. I think having some time to rest and recuperate as a group will do us some good but first and foremost we wish everyone at Ipswich well and we hope they recover quickly,” said boss Keith Curle.
“I can’t remember the last time I had a free Boxing Day but we will still be training. We have had to change the structure around a little bit but we will be fully prepared for Gillingham.
“We won’t lose our focus, we want the players as professionals to enjoy Christmas Day but then we will be in on Boxing Day preparing for Gillingham.”
