2,000 supporters are set to be at the PTS Academy Stadium for the visit of Lincoln City on Saturday and boss Keith Curle says they have a huge part to play.
“The supporters of this football club are massive and we need them now,” he said.
“They know the results haven’t gone exactly the way we would have wanted but the supporters can play a massive part for us.
“I’m still very frustrated about Tuesday night but when I look at the big picture there have been two 45 minute periods that I’ve been very unhappy with, one at Portsmouth and the second half at Oxford.
“I wasn’t happy with our reaction when the first goal went in and then the second, I didn’t see enough fight. You can’t win every game and you are going to get negative results but there is a way of losing and I didn’t see that fight in the second half on Tuesday which disappointed me.
“We’ve had a couple of meetings with the players to show them the evidence and pieces where if they think they are trying there then there has got to be more to come.
“One positive to come from the game was Max Dyche and it was good to see a young player thrown in who didn’t look out of place.
“He has got a real hunger and thirst for the game and when I spoke to him about the game he said he enjoyed every minute of it apart from the result. He handled himself well, rose to the occasion and handled the occasion.
“There are going to be times this season that every club in this division, no matter their stature, has a period where they don’t get the results they want and there hasn’t been a weekend gone by where I’ve not been surprised by a result.”
