Cobblers boss Keith Curle praised the commitment of his team as he reflected on Tuesday night’s 1-0 home win over Fleetwood Town.
“It was a well earned three points,” he said.
“I mentioned last week that we’ve had to have a change of mentality for our home games and the mentality within the group tonight was first class, Fleetwood are a good team and we had to be very disciplined to limit their threat.
“We’ve defended our goal very well in the last two away games and it was important we took that mindset into the game tonight.
“We covered every blade of grass tonight and we defended our goal very well.
“Cian Bolger marshalled the defence very well, the other defenders gave us a platform and we’ve got willing workers in the team in front of them. It wasn’t a night so much for our attacking players but they still had a role to play and they did that role very well.
“We can take a lot of pride in doing the horrible side of the job tonight, we put our bodies on the line but we needed to because Fleetwood are a very good side.”
