Cobblers boss Keith Curle was a happy man as he reflected on Tuesday night’s 3-1 home win over Gillingham.
“I thought we coped well with Gillingham and when we had the ball we looked a threat,” he said.
“We were brave, competitive and willing to accept the challenge tonight. You know you are going to have to stand up against a Steve Evans team because they will ask questions but we answered those questions.
“Alan’s primary role here is as a player but he has been doing some coaching as well and that’s an opportunity he has grasped with both hands.
“Benny Ashley-Seal is a threat and goals will come with him. The more game time he gets the better player he will become.”
