KEITH CURLE - 'WE WERE BRAVE AND WE TOOK ON THE CHALLENGE'

Post match reaction from the Cobblers boss

29 December 2020

Cobblers boss Keith Curle was a happy man as he reflected on Tuesday night’s 3-1 home win over Gillingham.

“I thought we coped well with Gillingham and when we had the ball we looked a threat,” he said.

“We were brave, competitive and willing to accept the challenge tonight. You know you are going to have to stand up against a Steve Evans team because they will ask questions but we answered those questions.

“Jonathan Mitchell didn’t have too much to do, it was good having Alan Sheehan and Shaun McWilliams back and the addition of Lloyd Jones has given the squad a bit more physicality and competition.

“Alan’s primary role here is as a player but he has been doing some coaching as well and that’s an opportunity he has grasped with both hands.

“Benny Ashley-Seal is a threat and goals will come with him. The more game time he gets the better player he will become.”
