Cobblers boss Keith Curle said his side are in a battle in League 1 as he reflected on Saturday’s home defeat to Lincoln City, who moved back up to second in Sky Bet League 1 as a result of their victory at the PTS Academy Stadium.
“I’m disappointed with the first goal because it comes from our free-kick,” he said.
“The last thing you need when you aren’t getting results is to give away an early goal, Lincoln are a good team but I didn’t think there was too much in it in the first half.
“We are missing some key players including Alan Sheehan and Joseph Mills and Jack Sowerby pulled out ten minutes before the end of training on Friday.
“I feel the frustration of the fans but I don’t shy away from my responsibility. Every day I work for the football club I give everything.
“We are in a battle but there are a lot of games to play and we can turn this around.”
