It is two wins in two pre-season games for Northampton Town Women as they beat Deanshanger Athletic Ladies 6-1 in their second pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening.
The Cobblers got off to a great start with Georgia Tear setting the ball to Abbie Brewin to give them an instant lead in the first minute of the game.
Then it was two on 28 minutes, a fantastic move out from the back with Kellie Billenness linking up with Leah Cudone who calmly slotted the ball into the corner for her first goal for the club.
5 minutes later Francesca Partridge made it three. Cudone held the ball up, playing in Naomi Dauncey down the right hand side. Dauncey then flashed a dangerous ball across the face of goal with Partridge on hand at the back post to tap it in.
Deanshanger made it 3-1 just before half time with a quick burst through the middle and finishing well into the far corner.
Minutes into the second half, more good link up play between Partridge and Cudone saw the latter fire in her second of the match. Then it was Partidge at the double, pouncing on a loose ball from a free-kick on the hour mark.
With just over ten minutes left club captain Alex Bartlett rounded off the scoring, rising high to nod in an Emma Billenness corner to secure a 6-1 victory for Northampton Town.
The Cobblers have a tough next game away at Redditch United Women on Sunday afternoon, and will be looking to continue their pre-season winning streak.
