KEITH CURLE'S THOUGHTS AFTER SATURDAY'S VISIT FROM LUTON TOWN

The Cobblers boss also provides a transfer update

30 August 2020

Cobblers boss Keith Curle was pleased with aspects of Saturday’s home pre-season friendly with Luton Town.

“What we needed was to be tested defensively and for the first 50/55 minutes I thought we did very well,” he said.

“We showed good organisation and good discipline but with the changes we made to give players game time it became a little bit loose.

“Some early points of the game were very pleasing and we gave a Championship side a good test. There were positives for us to come out of it but there are still things we need to work on."

The Cobblers boss also provided a transfer update as he looks to add to his squad.

“We are always working to add to the squad but I don’t panic, I try and make sure I get the right people which is all important," he said.

“There are targets we are talking to and there are other targets becoming available.

“I won’t panic and fill the changing room with bodies just for the sake of it, we’ve got a structure in place and I know the value of what I am trying to bring in and I won’t overpay because of the timing of it.

“We are trying to bring in the right personnel, the right characters and players with the right ability sets to add to the squad."
