Northampton Town manager Keith Curle says pre-season training is going well.
The squad have been back for just over a week now, and the Cobblers boss says he is pleased with how things are shaping up.
"Training has been good," he said.
"The players have come back in good shape and have followed their off-season programme. When we came back for the play offs we were preparing for a sprint, now we are preparing for a marathon so we have tailored our work to reflect that. Standards need to be high and they have been.
"We have got players quickly back in to work mode and they have worked hard. We have got the footballs out early, I believe the best way to get fit for playing football is to play football, and I have been pleased with the first week.
"We make the training tough but enjoyable, we make the players work mentally, we put them under pressure and we create a welcoming but demanding environment. The new faces have settled in well, we welcome them in but demand of them at the same time, just as we do from every player right the way through the squad."
