Northampton Town have signed central defender Cian Bolger from Lincoln City on an initial one year contract.
The 6ft 3in, 28 year old has a wealth of League 1 experience.
He began his career at Leicester City and spent two years successfully out on loan at Bristol Rovers before joining Bolton Wanderers in January 2013.
Further loan spells were forthcoming at Colchester United and Southend United before he joined the latter on a permanent basis in August 2014.
A move to Fleetwood Town followed in the summer of 2016, and in two and a half years at Highbury he made 108 appearances and scored 13 goals.
He moved to Lincoln City in the January 2019 transfer window and played 50 times for the Red Imps in a season and a half.
Bolger has made over 250 appearances in his career, and Keith Curle says he is pleased to welcome the Irishman to the club.
"Cian is an experienced centre back who knows his game and knows his strengths," he said.
"He is very competitive and is an all in type of character who is not afraid of the physical side of the game.
"Cian has played a lot of League 1 football over the last few seasons, he knows this level well, he knows what is required and is a very good competitor."
