Another busy week of community activity

3 April 2020

Northampton Town Football Club are working hard to support the community of Northampton and beyond during this coronavirus outbreak.

During the past few weeks, club officials, staff and players have been making phone calls, sending videos and messages to supporters to check on their wellbeing, lift spirits or to generally help out.

Some of the highlights this week have included:

Keith Curle calling supporter Mr Colson who is at home in isolation.
The Cobblers boss called supporter Joyce who is also at home during this outbreak.
Muriel, who has been a Cobblers supporter for 73 years also recevied a call from the Cobblers boss.
Billy, who is a junior player for our multi disability squads, was also called by the Northampton Town manager.

Chairman Kevin Thomas also made some calls, including speaking to long time supporters Mr Roy Parker and Mustafa El-Bayati to check on their well being, as well as speaking to supporter Paul Nicholls, a real hero of the Shoe Army who is always helping others, including delivering care packs to some young carers at this difficult time.

The players also made a number of calls and videos which have been sent to supporters privately, including Nicky Adams enjoying a 15 minute chat in a phone call to supporter Ian McDonald on Thursday.

The Northampton Town Education programme have continued to deliver many hours of education to students from across the club's Academy, Football & Education and inclusion programmes, using a range of technology and there is of course plenty more to come, while under 18s coach Jon Brady and Club Doctor Mary McCracken shared some of their expertise with supporters via online videos.

The Academy players have also been set some challenges by the first team players and they will be receiving their challenge videos in the coming days.

Mascot Clarence the Dragon has been busy doing some online puzzles while the club's Community Trust are doing some fantastic work through the #KeepCalmandCobblerOn programme of events.

Northampton Town Football Club will continue to offer as much support as we can to those in need through this period of uncertainty and we look forward to the day when we can get together again at the PTS Academy Stadium!
