KEITH CURLE SAYS PLAYING SQUAD ARE COPING WELL WITH CURRENT SUSPENSION IN FOOTBALL

The Cobblers boss with a squad update

Northampton Town manager Keith Curle has said he is keeping in regular contact with his staff and the playing squad during this Coronavirus suspension.

"We are all coping well and abiding by the guidelines which is vitally important," he said.

"The players have been split on to four groups, each with a different member of staff to check in with and we are in touch regularly to see how things are, how things are progressing and we change the players around to a different member of staff every week. It is an opportunity to stay connected and stay in touch, we speak about fitness, football, family, health and more. The players are all in good spirits, they understand the guidelines and they are doing well."

In terms of bringing the season to a conclusion, Curle says he is keen to play the campaign to a finish, but that he and the players are being guided by the authorities.

"I think everyone involved wants the season to be concluded and a start date found for next season but we are all governed by the circumstances," he said.

"Those things are important to us but we are guided by the authorities and in turn, they will be guided by the situation and health and safety has to be the most important factor in all of this."
