CLUB CAPTAIN PROUD OF CLUB'S WORK IN THE COMMUNITY

Nicky Adams on supporting those in need

20 April 2020

Club Captain Nicky Adams has praised the club's community work and says the players are proud to be at a club that does so much to support those in need.

The Chairman, manager, staff and players are making calls and sending video messages to many, many supporters, and Adams says that is fantastic to see.

"The club is a huge part of the Northamptonshire community," he said. "The staff are doing all they can to help people. As players we are more than happy to get involved and from the bottom to the top of the club people are going out of their way to help others.

"Northampton is a big club in League 2 and we are a big club in the community. You see the numbers we take away and the fans appreciate what the club are doing for them trying to lift their spirits and I think they will love the club even more when we do come back.

"When I left the club last time, the Chairman was first class with me. It was such a difficult decision but for family reasons I had to move back up north. The Chairman understood and it was how he was with me that stuck in my mind when the option came up for me to come back. The chance to work with Keith Curle again and the respect I have for the Chairman and the staff made it a no brainer of a decision for me to come back here.

"I will always have everyone at the club in the highest regard and you can see again, in these difficult times what good people we have at Northampton Town."
