NICKY ADAMS PRAISES CHAIRMAN, DIRECTORS AND STAFF FOR HELPING TO STEER CLUB THROUGH CURRENT SITUATION

Club Captain - "There are some very good people at the club all the way through."

Northampton Town Club Captain Nicky Adams is full of praise for the way Chairman Kelvin Thomas and his fellow Directors are steering the club through the current situation.

The EFL and PFA reached an agreement that will allow clubs to defer player wages for April by up to 25%, but the Cobblers Chairman says that is not something the club will be doing and is committed to ensuring players and staff receive 100% of their wages for as long as possible.

"We really appreciate what the Chairman, the Directors and the staff are doing," said Adams.

"There are some very good people at the club all the way through. The Chairman epitomises that and I am sure the fans will always hold him in high regard for what he has done from the day he arrived. He always has the best interest of the club at heart.

"He held a conference call with the players on Wednesday to tell us what is going on and it is obvious we are lucky to have him at the club. If you look at the club as a whole it is full of really good people. You only have to see the community work that is going on to understand that. The club is run by so many good people and that is crucial in these difficult times. Other clubs might not be so lucky.

"The Chairman has said we will get 100% wages for as long as possible and that is fantastic. He is a good man and right the way through the club we have some brilliant people and I can't speak highly enough of the club and the people involved.

"It is a tough time for everyone but we are lucky to be at such a club. I saw what happened at Bury last season and that was heart breaking and I don't want that to happen to any other club. There will be a lot of financial pressure on clubs and we just hope things pass as quickly as possible.”
