M62 ROADWORKS WILL ADD TIME TO JOURNEYS TO BRADFORD

Information ahead of Saturday's game

4 September 2019

Supporters travelling to Bradford City on Saturday should please note that Highways England is planning some roadworks this weekend.

They will be closing the M62 westbound between junction 29 (Lofthouse) and junction 28 (Tingley) and the link roads around Lofthouse interchange. The full weekend closure will start at 9pm on Friday 6 September 2019. The road will re-open on Monday 9 September at 5am. This closure is to carry out essential waterproofing work on Ardsley railway bridge.

This weekend closure will affect supporters going to the game on Saturday, in particular those who would go north on the M1 and then westwards on the M62 to reach Bradford.

The formal diversion for drivers travelling west will be to head north on the M1 and along the M621 before re-joining the M62 at junction 27.

Highways England have undertaken traffic modelling to understand the likely disruption to motorists and they believe during the Saturday peak times (10am — 5pm) it will take approximately 30 minutes extra to drive this stretch of the network.

Please plan your journeys accordingly.
