Cobblers boss Keith Curle has warned his players to be very much on their guard ahead of Saturday’s trip to Morecambe.
“For anyone expecting us to just go there and win I’d say these two words that I’ve said to the changing room, Macclesfield Town,” he said.
“That’s no disrespect to Macclesfield but I think everybody, including the changing room, expected us to win that game in August, we had a shock then and that’s something we need to learn from.
“It doesn’t matter who we are playing against, we need to play our game individually and collectively.
“We’ll have a game plan and we need to put the ball into the right people in the right areas.
“Within that players have still got to do the ugly side and it’s sometimes the less glamorous side of the game that wins you the three points.
“Morecambe have players that on their day can cause you problems and Kevin Ellison is a credit to the profession with the way he has managed his career.”
