POSITIVE NEWS ON SHAUN McWILLIAMS AS SQUAD PREPARE FOR STEVENAGE

Team news ahead of Tuesday's trip to Stevenage

17 September 2019

Midfielder Shaun McWilliams has suffered no reactions after leaving the field with chest pains during the second half of Saturday’s win over Newport County.

“Shaun has had no reaction from Saturday,” said boss Keith Curle.

“He was checked by the doctor at half-time and again when he came off in the second half. He saw the doctor again on Monday so whether it was just a virus or acid reflux he now has a clean bill of health.

“We will monitor him in training to make sure he can play at the tempo we want but if he comes through that he should be fine for Tuesday.

“I think he was enjoying his role on Saturday, Shaun is a player that is developing, he’s got natural energy and he is improving his decision making on the ball.

“He’s excellent at winning the ball but what he needs to do then is find the right pass but that is coming, he is improving and getting better all the time.”
