KEITH CURLE UNHAPPY AFTER SCUNTHORPE LOSS

Post match reaction

Cobblers boss Keith Curle was clearly very unhappy as he reflected on Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Scunthorpe.

“Disappointed doesn’t come into it, it’s a lot worse than that,” he said.

“For twenty minutes in the first half their attackers were better than our defenders and I don’t think throughout the whole game our attackers caused their defence or their goalkeeper enough problems.

“At 3-0 the game was over and it was dead and buried by the time Vadaine was sent off. In my professional opinion Vadaine made an honest attempt to get the ball and I thought he was well within his rights to go for it.

“I know there are still changes that need to happen and one of the only players to come out with any credit today was Alan McCormack.

“Too many players didn’t turn up today and when that happens you get beat. If you don’t do the basics right you saw today what will happen.

“We need to learn from today and there are players in the changing room that need to improve quickly.

“We will be in with the players tomorrow to watch the video and after today we need to go back to basics.”
