After more than 5 weeks without a game thanks to a combination of waterlogged pitches and opposition teams cancelling games, the Northampton Town Ladies returned to action with a 2-0 win away from home against Loughborough Students on Wednesday evening.
A first minute goal from Francesca Speck put the Cobblers ahead before a 55th minute strike from Abbie Reboul sealed the points.
Joint manager Lou Barry praised the team for their performance after the game.
"We are extremely proud of that performance from the players," he said.
"It has been a long wait for a game but that is how you battle for three points away from home."
