KEITH CURLE SET TO RETURN TO FORMER CLUB ON TUESDAY NIGHT

The Cobblers boss looks ahead to the game at Carlisle United

Cobblers boss Keith Curle has spoken about his time at Carlisle ahead of Tuesday night’s trip to Brunton Park.

“I had four fantastic years there,” he said.

“They are going through a period of change and transition at the moment but there are still some people at the club who I have got a lot of time for.

“We had three top ten finishes in my time there and some great cup games as well. We went on a long unbeaten run away from home and that showed the character and mentality of the group.

“I actually enjoyed the travelling and I always tried to use it in a positive way. Yes it’s a long journey, but Carlisle had a long trip back from Plymouth on Saturday and I don’t see that having any effect.

“We will prepare ourselves in the right way before travelling and then make sure on the night we compete. We need to enforce our style of play on Carlisle and if we do that we will create opportunities."

Curle has meanwhile provided an update on Joe Martin and Steve Arnold with the latter likely to be back in contention for selection later this week.

“We are still awaiting Joe’s scan results but Steve is back training and he should be available for selection by the end of the week.”
