Cobblers boss Keith Curle was delighted to see midfielder Alan McCormack return to action on Saturday with goalkeeper Steve Arnold also nearing a return.
“It was good to get 25 minutes for Alan and that was one of the positives to come out of Saturday,” he said.
“Steve Arnold has re-joined in training and that is another big plus.
“When you have a relatively small squad you need your key personnel, it’s taken a little bit of time to get Alan and Steve back but I think we’ve followed the right procedure and hopefully they can now stay injury free.”
Jordan Turnbull is available for selection on Tuesday evening after serving a one-match ban for accumulated bookings.
