Cobblers boss Keith Curle says the mindset of his players will be important this weekend as he previews Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup first round tie at Chippenham Town, kick-off 12.45pm.
“It’s an excellent competition, every year you see upsets and we know our mindset and mentality have to be right,” he said.
“It’s a nice pitch, the surroundings might be a little different to what we are used to but it’s up to us to adapt to that and ultimately when the players go out on the pitch it’s just a game of football.
“Our preparation doesn’t change and we will be doing exactly the same detailed analysis that we would for any league game.
“We don’t change our mentality and we see every game, regardless the opposition, as an opportunity for the players to go out and perform.
“We are going to come up against different situations and challenges throughout the season but the challenges we set the players are achievable as long as we remain focused and follow the game plan.”
