Despite an encouraging run of results which has seen the Cobblers pick up ten points from their last four games, boss Keith Curle still believes there is still much more to come from his side.
“There are still areas both individually and collectively where we can make vast improvements,” he said.
“The result last Saturday was frustrating but we work on the positives and if you look at the overall picture ten points from twelve is a good return.
“Potentially we know we could have had another six points this season and if we had that people would be saying we’d had a very good start but we know that there is still more to come.
“We are a work in progress and when we do see things we need to work on and improve we don’t hide from that, we address them and look at what we can do better.
“Our ball retention can be better and that was probably one of the big things from Saturday.
“There are positives and negatives in every game and that’s not shaped by the result. There are always things you can work on and areas you can improve but whilst doing that you need to make sure the fundamentals are in place.”
