The Northampton Town Community Trust are delighted to be able to launch their brand new ‘Forces Friendly’ initiative
The initiative is designed to help support veterans to re-integrate and stay connected within their local community. The project will enable veterans of all ages to access a range of NTFC Community Trust run projects for free over the next year thanks to the recent fundraising support of the Blades Team.
The activities on offer from launch as part of this initiative will include: Walking Football, Extra Time Hubs, Every Player Counts, Fit Cobblers, Monday Night Legends and access to our Multi-Disabled Football Club sessions. Further sessions will be added as the year goes on.
Veterans will be required to show ID when signing up or at their first session to be registered onto the initiative.
Walking Football is open to men and women aged 50 and over. It is a slower paced version of the beautiful game that is perfect for those wanting to get back into football or indeed try it for the first time. It provides participants with the knowledge, support and activity to help make small lifestyle changes which can have a positive effect on their health.
