After speaking to manager Keith Curle, Chris Lines said he had very little hesitation in putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at Northampton Town, effective from July 1st.
“The Gaffer sold it to me and I didn’t really have to think about it too much after speaking to him,” he said.
“I’ve been impressed with his football philosophy and just his passion to win games. The most important thing in football is winning games and if you can play well doing that then great.
“His aim for this club is promotion, I’ve had four already and I think I can add that experience to the changing room.
“He wants to bring a winning mentality back to the club and for me the aim is to get this club back up into League 1.
“The club has had some success before and I’m sure the fans want to see that again so it’s up to us as the players now to try and deliver that.
“The Gaffer wants to put his stamp on the team and if you can get a good group of players who are all on the same wavelength then that is massive.
“With previous promotions I’ve had we’ve not necessarily always been the best team but we’ve had a great bunch of lads and if you have that then the results can take care of themselves.”
