Chris Lines has four promotions on his footballing CV to date - and he is keen to make it five with Northampton Town.
“80% of my career has probably been in League 1 but I have played in League 2 before and been successful. It’s a league that I know and a league that I know I can do well in,” he said.
“I’ve dropped down a level before and gone back up before so let’s do it again.
“You never know what is going to happen in football and I felt it was the right time for me to move on.
“I had a great time at Bristol Rovers and in my second spell we got back-to-back promotions and I think that is an experience I can bring with me and if I can help the dressing room here in any way then I will.
“I like to get on the ball and play. The Gaffer has spoken about getting the team to play out from the back and hopefully I can fit into that perfectly.
“I like to drive forward with the ball from midfield and I’ve always played a big part in set pieces.
“Hopefully my creativity from midfield and set pieces can help the team and if I can get some assists then the strikers will be happy as well.”
