Having spent 3 seasons in the East Midlands Womens Regional Football League (EWMRFL) Division 1 South, the Northampton Town Ladies have now won promotion to the East Midlands Womens Regional Football League (EMWRFL) Premier Division.
Narrowly missing out on promotion last season, the ladies have been working extremely hard to achieve promotion this season and their hard work has paid off.
The Northampton Town Ladies have been top of the table for the majority of the season, in tight competition with Oadby & Wigston LFC, however winning the fixture between the two clubs in mid-April helped turn the promotion race towards the Cobblers.
Next season will bring new challenges to the Northampton Town Ladies and they will be playing against the likes of Peterborough (who got promoted last season), Kettering Town WFC, Mansfield Town Ladies & Leicester City Ladies however we are confident that the girls will compete well in the Premier Division of the league having already beaten some of these teams in cup competitions in previous seasons.
Emma Dunmore is once again top goal scorer of the season, with three Cobblers players in the top 10 goal scorers this season, Emma Dunmore, Leah Stacey and Alex Barlett
We would like to say a big thank you to Blisworth FC for their continued support throughout the year for providing the club with pitches on which to play some of the home games.
