Northampton Town's youth team welcomed Swindon Town to Moulton College on Saturday for their latest EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division 1 fixture.
The Cobblers were edged out 3-2 with a last minute winner cruel on Jon Brady's side.
"We have a number of players with the first team or out on work experience or loan and we are promoting up from the younger age groups to give those players experience and they can be pleased with their performance today," he said.
"A first year player from our Football & Education programme, Ethan Johnson, did well and set up our first goal for Caleb Chukwuemeka.
"Haydon Price scored our second, finishing off an excellent team move and there were plenty of positives for us to take from the game."
