Northampton Town Ladies faced Loughborough for the third and final time this season. In previous meetings this season the Cobblers had won 5-1 and 4-0 and were looking for another good result.
The weather conditions were not ideal with rain and high winds making for a difficult game.
The Cobblers started the game well, dominating the ball all over the pitch but the wind caused issues for both sides.
Emma Dunmore found the back of the net twice within a minute to give Cobblers the lead after 25 minutes.
From that point on Cobblers were in full control and Loughborough found it hard to get out of their own half.
On 37 minutes, Nicola Andrejczuk opened her Cobblers account with her first goal for the club and put Northampton Town 3-0 ahead.
Dunmore then completed her hat-trick just before the end of the first half.
In the second half the Cobblers were playing in to the wind and Loughborough used this to their advantage by launching balls forward into the Cobblers half but the defensive line, led by captain Sara Wait, stood strong and kept Loughborough at bay.
The Cobblers continued to press creating numerous chances but were unable to find the back of the net, running out 4-0 winners.
