Cobblers boss Keith Curle is pleased with the competitiveness of his squad, and he provided a positive injury update on on-loan Brighton defender George Cox.
“We’ve got a competitive squad and we are at a stage now where good players are not even making the eighteen," he said.
“That is a tribute to the players we have available now but it’s good to see the players that have come back from injury have been fit and available to play.
“The players know that there are no guarantees and just because we win a game that doesn’t mean the team won’t change.
“We plan how we train in the week to the opposition we are playing at the weekend and every opposition has different strengths and weaknesses.
“George Cox has seen a specialist in London and from the two options he had they have gone for the shorter option which is good news. He is probably going to spend two weeks back at Brighton now and then he’ll hopefully be back up with us to work on the field based training.
“He’s not going to be back in the team in two weeks but we are hoping to see him back in and around the group.”
