Keith Curle has praised the reaction of the squad over the last few weeks.
Since losing 4-0 to Colchester United in early February, the Cobblers have gone five games unbeaten, a response that has pleased the Cobblers boss.
“The reaction from the group since the Colchester defeat has been fantastic,” he said.
“The scoreline that day didn’t necessarily reflect the performance and there were still positives for us to take from that game but it gave us a starting point to re-build.
“If we’d have lost that game 1-0 a lot of things might not have come to the surface and we used it in a positive way with the meetings we had with the players afterwards.
“We didn’t want to dismantle some of the good stuff we’d done but sometimes you need a scoreline like that in order to re-focus.
“We stressed the necessity of doing the simple things well and to a man that is what has happened in the changing room.
“There are still things we need to improve on but we are earning the results we are getting right now.”
