JAKE MEETS KEITH CURLE AND THE SQUAD TO HELP HIS RECOVERY

Young supporter battling back well after car accident

Fellow fans may recall that Northampton Town supporter Jake Elliott was badly injured in a car accident in January.

Jake has spent a number of weeks in hospital in Coventry before being moved to a rehabilitation hospital in Leamington Spa and, as part of his recovery, he visited the PTS Academy Stadium on Thursday to meet the Cobblers squad and watch training.

"On January 18th Jake was a passenger in a very bad car accident. He suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance," said his Dad Simon.

"He was touch and go for a few days, he was unconscious for two weeks and has made excellent progress ever since.

"We thought Jake would be in hospital for a year but here he is, a couple of months later, much, much better.

"The last couple of months have been the most difficult of our lives and it feels like we are making progress now.

"Within the first day or two of the accident, the club were in contact and they have been outstanding throughout the process. We have had a video from some of the players, some of the players have been in regular contact and at a time when Jake was semi conscious, just being able to read out some of the messages from the players was a huge help.

"Jake's recovery has been helped by his positive attitude and just being able to keep in contact with the club, and days like today, have made a massive difference."

It was great to see Jake looking so well, and we hope to see him back here for the Port Vale game.
