Cobblers boss Keith Curle praised the efforts of his players in difficult conditions as he reflected on Saturday’s goalless draw with Grimsby Town.
“It’s a point earned,” he said.
“There wasn’t a lot of quality but I think it shows how far we’ve come that there was an air of disappointment in the changing room after the game.
“It was a good battling performance away from home and the players showed real desire and application to keep a clean sheet.
“Conditions were difficult and I don’t think either team was able to find any real fluidity.
“On another day we maybe nick it but we just needed a bit more quality in the final third.
“There is an understanding and a belief in the changing room that wasn’t there when I arrived at the football club and it’s growing.
“We need that mentality and today we earn the right to keep a clean sheet and earn potentially an important point.”
