Northampton Town Ladies player Chloe Atkins is getting used to playing international football.
At the age of just 17, Chloe was called up to the Northern Ireland under 19 squad for the first time to go to Portugal to take part in the European Championship qualifiers.
Since then, Chloe has been selected for the Northern Ireland squad many times.
"My selection to play international football has further developed me as a player and person," said Chloe.
"These experiences have created the highest of highs in my playing career with memories and friends that will last a life time.
"However, there is another side to playing at this level, not only can it be physically demanding and draining due to the intense training but also mentally challenging.
"Playing with Northern Ireland has opened my eyes to everything that players go through behind the scenes, such as having to provide samples every morning to test hydration and wearing a tracking device every time you step on the field so the coaching staff can monitor performance.
"Overall, I am grateful for the opportunities that have arisen for me and will continue to strive in order to keep performing at that level."
Congratulations Chloe, we are very proud of you!
