Goalkeeper Steve Arnold is delighted to have joined Northampton Town.
“It was a couple of weeks in the making and I was just over the moon to get it all sorted,” he said.
“There were a few clubs interested but once I knew Northampton were one of those I felt certain this would be the right move for me.
“I wanted to move a bit closer to home and from the moment I first spoke to the Gaffer he really drew me in. It’s a club that has been up and down over the last few years and our aim now has to be promotion.
“Speaking to the Gaffer my mind was made up instantly and I’m really excited about the season ahead.
“It was a tough decision for me to leave Shrewsbury but I did miss not being closer to my family.
“For me it’s always been about playing games at the highest level I can and hopefully I can do that here.
“The signings the club has made has shown a real intent and desire to get promotion but there is only so much a manager can do, when we cross that white line it’s up to us.”
