REECE HALL-JOHNSON BECOMES NINTH NEW ADDITION OF THE SUMMER

Defender becomes latest new arrival

17 June 2019

Northampton Town have signed defender Reece Hall-Johnson with effect from July 1st on a one year contract with an option for a further year.

Right back Hall-Johnson, who turned 24 last month, started in the Academy at Cambridge United before joining Norwich City. Making his senior debut in a League Cup tie against Crawley Town in 2014, he enjoyed spells with Maidstone and Braintree before signing for Grimsby Town in October 2017, and after an initial loan spell at Chester City, he returned to the Mariners in January 2018, making 43 appearances at Blundell Park.

"We are really pleased to have signed Reece," said manager Keith Curle.

"He is an attacking right back who has a lot of pace and someone who we think is getting better and better as a player.

"He is very athletic and is full of energy and he can play as a wing back, as a right back in a four or as a right sided centre back as well.

"Reece can deliver a quality ball in to the area too and we believe his career is on an upward curve.

"He is one we have identified, he is a good age, a natural athlete, he is mobile and he has that ambition we require and we are pleased to have him on board."
