Nicky Adams says the lure of working with Keith Curle again was a big factor in his return to Northampton Town.
Curle signed Adams for Carlisle United in 2016, and Adams says he was keen to sign for his former manager once again.
“It’s good to be back, obviously it’s a club I know really well and when I got the call it was a no brainer for me,” he said.
“I’ve played for Keith before and I think we’ve got a great relationship, he’s a top guy and if I was going to leave Bury I needed to be somewhere that I would be happy and playing for someone I enjoy playing for.
“It’s sad what has happened at Bury but I wish them all the best. We had an unbelievable season and it’s a good club with good people.
“It’s been tough not being paid and first and foremost you need to look after your family. I had a few offers but really there was no other choice.
“Keith made the deal happen, I love football and I just want to play.”
