KEITH CURLE PREVIEWS FINAL PRE-SEASON WORK OUT

The Cobblers boss looks ahead to the MK Dons fixture

25 July 2019

Cobblers boss Keith Curle previews Friday’s final pre-season fixture, with MK Dons providing the opposition at the PTS Academy Stadium, kick-off 7.30pm.

“It’s another great opportunity and there are still players who need minutes,” he said.

“We got some players more topped up on Tuesday but the likes of Charlie Goode and Reece Hall-Johnson still need some more game time.

“Alan McCormack might be available, he was touch and go for Tuesday but we don’t want to put him in before he’s had the right amount of training and he’s ready. Pre-season gives you the time to follow the return to playing protocol to the letter and that is what we are doing.

“We are still looking to add to the squad and potentially there are still players who may leave which will help free up a bit of the budget.

“Joe Bunney is under contract at the football club but if somebody comes in with an offer that suits Joe and suits us then we will listen. If not then like Junior Morias and Billy Waters he will keep working hard in training on a daily basis and not being distracted by events he can’t control."
