KEITH CURLE - 'I WANT US TO BE PROGRESSIVE'

The Cobblers boss ahead of Saturday's opening game

31 July 2019

Cobblers boss Keith Curle has spoken about his ambitions for the forthcoming campaign and how he wants his side to play.

“It’s going to be a long season and there are going to be twists and turns. There will be highs and lows but my mindset is that we want to be progressive,” he said.

“I believe we can be a top ten team and if you can get yourselves up there then anything can happen. We’ve got players in the changing room who have had success and they know what is needed.

“It’s been an exciting summer and it was good to get the players we wanted in early. We’ve got a good changing room and it’s been nice seeing those relationships and bond between the players develop.

“We’ve got some good personalities in the changing room and now it’s about those players expressing themselves both individually and collectively.

“The players have a licence to play and I want to play entertaining, free flowing attacking football.

“I want us to play in the opposition half, I want us to be creative in the final third and when we do lose possession I want us to win it back as quickly as possible. We need to make sure we do the basics right and last Friday against MK Dons was an indication of the level we need to be at.”
