SCOTT POLLOCK MAKES HISTORY BY BECOMING FIRST PLAYER FROM FOOTBALL & EDUCATION PROGRAMME TO MAKE FIRST TEAM APPEARANCE

Youngster emerges from player pathway to make EFL debut

21 January 2019

Northampton Town midfielder Scott Pollock has made history by becoming the first player from the club's Football & Education programme to play for the first team.

The Northampton Town Football & Education programme is a full-time education programme for 16-18 year olds, that combines a high quality, formal education qualification with a programme of Sports Industry specific work experience and, potentially, playing opportunities.

The club's player pathway allows for the progression of players through the programme into the senior Academy team and then possibly into the first team squad.

The club operate the Football & Education programme from two education centres in Northampton, and only last September  HRH the Princess Royal opened the latest education  centre at the club's St Crispins Campus.

17 year old midfielder Pollock signed a 2 year scholarship contract with Northampton Town earlier this season having previously played for Hashtag United.
