On Saturday 26th January the Northampton Town under 10’s multi disability team travelled to their first competitive event with the Leicester and Rutland Inclusive League held at Aylestone Park FC.
The event was for the Mary Rudkin cup which is in honour of a special woman well respected by all those involved with inclusive football in Leicester.
The competition started with each team playing 4 group games with the top two playing out the final. The Cobblers won all four of their games without conceding a goal.
In the final Northampton Town were pitched against a strong team from Wigston Foxes and in a closely fought contest the Cobblers ran out 1-0 winners.
Every player played their part either keeping a clean sheet or scoring with five different players getting on the scoresheet.
A huge congratulations to the boys for their performance and for what they have achieved as a team this season so far.
