KEITH CURLE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE CHALLENGE OF FACING IN-FORM FORMER CLUB

The Cobblers boss looks ahead to Saturday's visit from Carlisle United

10 January 2019

Cobblers boss Keith Curle previews Saturday’s home game against in-form Carlisle United, the club Curle managed for nearly four years before joining Northampton Town.

“I know a lot of the squad at Carlisle and we will certainly set up to try and beat them,” he said.

“They have got some good players who are playing with a lot of confidence at the moment but, just like any team in this division, they are beatable.

“It will be a good challenge for us and that’s been the message to the players.

“There were positives on Tuesday night and there were elements of what we are trying to do but we are still in a transitional period and I’m still trying different personnel in different systems."

On injured trio Andy Williams, Ash Taylor and John-Joe O’Toole, Curle added:

“Andy and Ash are both good characters and if there is an opportunity for them to be involved they will be out there.

“We will assess them both and then make a decision from there.

“John-Joe is getting closer, Saturday might be too soon for him to start a game and we owe it to the players to give them the best opportunity to perform.”

New loan signing George Cox is available for selection.
