KEITH CURLE ON THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING AND IMPROVING AS A SQUAD

The Cobblers boss on taking the lessons from every game

As he steps up plans to face Morecambe at the PTS Academy Stadium on Saturday, Northampton Town manager Keith Curle has stressed to his players the importance of learning and improving from every game, win, lose or draw.

“I like winning games and if we can’t win then I like to draw but whatever happens we must learn,” he said.

“I thought the minimum we could have got out the Cambridge game was a point but goals change games.

“We had a great opportunity to go 3-1 up and if we had taken that I think that would have hurt them quite a lot.

“It’s a learning curve for the players and there are things we still need to adapt.

“There are massive amounts of improvements that can still be done within the squad here and the players who come in during the January transfer window have got to get on that learning curve as well and adapt quickly.

“We had a big analysis session on Monday and the players are assessing their own individual performances, it’s all confidential within the group but I want to see how each player views the game and where they think they can improve. That is crucial.”
