The Northampton Town youth team welcomed Oxford United to Moulton College on Saturday for their opening EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division fixture.
The Cobblers beat the winners of the South West Division 3-1 with goals from Jack Daldy (pictured), Camron McWilliams and Jack Newell.
“We were a goal down at half-time but the boys showed immense character,” said under 18s coach Jon Brady.
“Camron scored a terrific free-kick but we missed a penalty and really we could have put the game to bed earlier.
“The boys thoroughly deserved the result and it’s good to get off to a winning start.”
